Here's my no longer rusty old Dodge. Check out THIS page for restoration progress.
Shortly before I tore it apart...
Before.
After!
I gotta fiberglass that hoodscoop on one of these years.
It only took 3 years, but there's a Dana just itching to sit under my car now!
It's about time I updated this. After sitting for almost 10 months, not running...it's back together and driving like an old rusty Mopar should! In that horrible downtime, I ported my stock cylinder heads (with help from Rich), added a MP .509 cam, new timing chain, new valvesprings, an Edelbrock Torker intake, a manual steering box, and an electric fan. Around the middle of September, I finally got her fired up, and proceeded to snap the pinion in two in the parking lot at my work.

Oops! Anyway, this spawned an upgrade to a 4.30 Suregrip centersection. My MSD 6a box died, so I had to swap in my old points distributor. After all those little issues were squared away... I took it to the track, and after a couple shakedown passes went 13.00 @ 107. The MPH is decent, and I was driving like a grandma since I'm still kinda afraid of breaking parts. On the last run, all of the bolts holding my shifter to the trans worked their way loose, thereby ending my day at the track. There goes my 12 second run, too. So...it's time for further upgrades!

Over this off-season, I installed a new set of Hooker Competition headers (old ones were cracked at tubes #4 and #6), a Proform centersection for my 750 DP Holley (definite seat of the pants improvement), and I'm looking to upgrade to an MSD 6AL and two step purchased used from a friend at work. When I put the headers on, I found out my stock bellhousing is cracked from the inspection plate on the passenger's side all the way to the top, so I've got a blowproof bellhousing on the way, too! Silly money pit. It's also been upgraded to a V-gate shifter:
It just begs to be abused. That's the beauty, and downfall, of a car like this. I got it 100% legal to drive, and I'm driving it around at the end of January with open headers, the DOT legal slicks, and no heater. I think I'm insane. Either way, I love this car...
Look for easy 12.80's this year, maybe even 12.60's if I don't break the rearend.
